The theoretical maximum capture size is 8.6 Quadrillion (1015) samples. When zoomed all the way in, this would occupy 41 Trillion screens of data.

No; we are not claiming you should expect this size of captures. Your captures will be very large, but are highly unlikely to be this large.

However, this number is possible with sparse data (<12 transitions / sec.) so we designed DigiView to handle it.

If we can handle this edge case, then you can be assured we can handle more 'typical' captures.

See Capture Count for realistic capture estimates for your typical data.

DigiView captures can be huge, making it impractical, if not impossible, to simply browse through the data. DigiView provides a number of navigation features to help you quickly locate interesting data and then easily browse the surrounding data.

  • Capture data is trans-compressed to a highly compressed, yet optimized for random-access, format. This lets us keep the entire capture in memory for ultra fast navigation, searching and measurement calculations.
  • Scrolling, jumping, zooming, and searching is instantaneous - even with trillions of samples.
  • Rapidly zoom in/out with mouse wheel or keyboard short-cuts.
  • Click near an edge to snap the edge to the reference marker, or vice versa.
  • Snap to previous/next edge/frame/field with a single click.
  • Drop markers to remember important events and then jump to them with a single click.
  • Snap to the previous/next match from any defined search with a single click.
  • Jump to any arbitrary auto-search match with a single click.
  • Waveform views and associated data views are synchronized. For example, changing the center time of the waveform view causes the associated list views to scroll to the same time and vice versa. Clicking on a search result will scroll all associated views to the match field.
  • Over 50 keyboard shortcuts.
